Watching my oldest graduate: To the moms walking through this season

There are certain moments in motherhood that feel impossible to prepare for.

No matter how many times people tell you "It goes by fast," nothing quite prepares you for the moment your child walks across that graduation stage.

And if I'm being honest, this season is filled with emotions I didn't fully expect.

There were times I found myself looking at old photos, remembering basketball games, school projects, family routine changes, and all the little ordinary moments that somehow became the big memories.

If your child is graduating this year, I want you to know you're not alone if your heart feels full and heavy all at once. So celebrate loudly, take all the pictures and cry if you need to.

This season is bittersweet but this next season-the college they'll attend, the people they'll meet, the lessons they'll learn and the person they are becoming-is already in God's hands.

Be proud of the young adult standing before you and be proud of yourself, too.

It's a beautiful reminder that motherhood is never about holding on forever. It's about trusting and praying that you've raised them well enough to let them go confidently into what's next.

The wonderful part about it for me is that I get to do it all over again next year with my middle child.

And that too is something worth celebrating.
